{September 23, 2016}   No cavities…what??

When it comes to me…that almost never happens.

I have told you a little about my dental escapades in the past, not always a positive outcome.

Well, it’s rare, but it happens and today was one of those instances. I went to the dentist, sat in the chair and they got to work. Cleaning, scaling, scraping, flossing, x-rays, the full workup.

Turns out..clean bill of health! Called my dad as soon as I got out of the office.

Go me!

{October 1, 2015}   How do you say thank you?

Is saying thank you enough?

Sometimes a simple thank you will do,  sometimes it’s not enough.  In my case,  I’m not so sure!

Yesterday started with some wonderful, happy birthday text messages and phone calls and it didn’t stop there.  Work,  businesses, friends,  family.

Then I got on Facebook and oh my! The birthday wishes started and there didn’t seem to be an end in sight…I was so flattered and touched and happy.

I tried to respond to all of the posts,  but I had to blog and then I fell asleep, I’m sorry!  Tonight,  I got online and I hope I responded to all of them and the new ones from today!

And today…I got a gift from my good friend, CH, thank you!

Wow,  how lucky am I? VERY!!!

So,  to each and every one of you who wished me a happy birthday,  I say THANK YOU so very much!

You flatter me,  you will never know how much this means to me!

{September 12, 2015}   It’s opening day!

Today was opening day for soccer and softball. How cute are they?

I wasn’t there, but EJS started her day with soccer. Then it was MGS’ turn, so cute! I remember when EJS first started playing soccer, soooo cute,  like hearding cats!

These girls were great and adorable,  of course! MGS also had a great cheering section of course. I think she had fun,  just needs a little practice and confidence.

A few hours later,  it was time for EJS’ first game of the season. She was great!  I haven’t been to one of her games yet,  so this was a real treat!

I saw her get to bat twice and do something new…catcher! Check out her form, pretty impressive,  don’t you think?

And what a cheering section! Me,  My dad, MGS, GES, ACS and M&C O and their dog Bella, PSM and his dog Mollie. Pretty impressive,  wouldn’t you agree?

Today was just the beginning and I’m looking forward to many more opportunities!

{July 27, 2015}   I’m just not mommy

I totally get that and I’m ok with it.

This morning, GES and ACS got up very early to take EJS to sleep away camp! Second summer and this year, for three weeks! GES asked if I could spend the night and get MGS on the bus in the morning. Happy to!

I got up, took a shower and then went to wake MGS and in less than a minute it started. “Momma, momma, I want momma, mommy” and that went on for a good fifteen to twenty minute. I’m fine, promise! I’ve been through this once or twice!

I even got mommy on the phone, to no avail. So it was wait it out and eventually she’ll be ready. Yup, that happened about 8am when the bus left, but…all was not lost! GES texted the counselor to let her know we would take the next bus.

We got dressed, sun block, no bug spray, t-shirt on, ponytail installed, bag packed, lunch packed, snack packed, walked out the door and headed to the bus stop. We got there with a few minutes to spare, on the wrong side, duh on me! The counselor called MGS’ name, ran across the street to get her and away she went.

How did things go at pick up? All good, just tired!

{July 25, 2015}   Two birthday celebrations

First…Let me apologize! I missed my blog post last night! I fell asleep! It’s only the 3rd or 4th time in the 3 years I have been writing to you. I am sorry!

Second…this was the weekend of birthday celebrations and it’s been wonderful!

It started last night when there was a girls night birthday celebration for GES at the Birch Bistro. There were eleven of us and what a fabulous night it was! There were great friends, decent food, good conversation, what more could you want? The perfect way to end the day and celebrate another great year and fabulous woman!

Then today, PSM had an appointment to have the remote starter installed, so I surprised him and picked him up and took him to Revere Beach for the Sand Sculpting Festival, I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow. After the festival, we picked up the car,, then to a restaurant for a good lunch, then back to the hotel to get some errands done.

Later, K&D N came to PSMs and we headed to meet his brother and wife and A and J T at East Coast Grill for a celebratory dinner. We were supposed to go to a different restaurant, but I forgot to make a reservation and we ended up where we did and as AT said “JJ, I’m glad you screwed up, this was great!” And as I like to say….there’s always a next time!

GES was out with two other couples celebrating her birthday, not too shabby.

Such a nice feeling, everyone coming together for PSM’s birthday. K&D N knew everyone except A&J T, but by the end of dinner, everyone was fast friends. This was a true testament to how much people care for and about PSM. We really had a great time, with the promise of doing it again soon!

{July 11, 2015}   My sister, my hero

Tonight, I just want to spotlight my sister.

I’ve told you a little about my sister, GES, but I haven’t given you all the details about certain things. I know I’m the blogger/writer in the family, but tonight, I want to share an article that she wrote, about how she told her young children about cancer.

Tonight, she gets the spotlight, my admiration and my love, well, the last two she gets all the time!

{June 29, 2015}   Furry love

I absolutely love having my cats with me.

Even though I saw the cats on the weekends when I was on the road, I really missed having them with me. So, when the opportunity to have them with me full time while I am on this project, I took it!

I don’t know what I’ll do when this project is up and I have to move on to the next project/location, maybe I’ll be able to find a pet friendly hotel and have them with me. I could rent a car and drive to the location, I don’t think they would fly very well, unless I could knock them out, who knows, never tried.

Even though Peanut is having some issues right now, I love having them with me. I come back to the room every night and they greet me, of course they want food or treats, but I’ll take it. What I really love is when I sit on the sofa, they are right there next to me, one on each side and then when I get in bed, here they come, either sitting on me or just to my side.

What could be better than warm, soft, purring, cuddles? Not much!
