{February 10, 2016}   Did we really just finish working?

We got to the client’s site about 8:10 this morning.

We walked out of the client’s site about 8:45 PM! What? Then, we met up in my hotel room to finish what we didn’t get done in the office. We met at 9:30pm, got settled in, ordered food and started working again., I was doing a dry run of my training class for the guys.

When did they leave? About 12:30 AM! Huh? There was laughing and some goofing off and breaking for dinner, but still…we started at breakfast at 7:15am and parted company at 12:30am and now, we are meeting at 7:30am.

I’m done for the day! Tune in tomorrow, how will it go?

{February 9, 2016}   Another paint night!

I must be paint crazy!

Tonight,  we had a team outing. We went painting at Buffalo’s Best Grill. Bar food,  great when you’re hungry,  but not as great if you’re not,  you know, fried, greasy. But it was tasty you start!

We had a great time, laughing with each stroke. “Oh, I don’t like that” “I need to do that over!” “Ooh, that’s great!” It’s the same thing each time I do a class,  I love it!

I like being able to do things like this with different people and groups. It’s also fun getting out with coworkers after long days.

{February 8, 2016}   Happy Chinese New Year!

It’s the year of the monkey!

The Chinese or Lunar New Year starts today and the festivities lasts 15 days.

This year is the year of the monkey. This is based on the movements of the moon and sun.
Were you born in one of these years? 2016, 2004, 1992, 1980, 1968

People born in the Year of the Monkey are said to be intelligent, clever, and gregarious, but also mischievous. They are skilled and smart, but shortcomings, like a quick temper and a touch of arrogance, tend to hold them back.

This is a great article giving you a lot of good information about the Chinese new year and how it’s celebrated around the world.

Happy New Year to JCT, mom, the whole family and all my friends who are celebrating.

{February 7, 2016}   What a weekend!

And I’m not in Atlanta!

I got back Thursday from Buffalo, picked up my rental car and went home to check on my furry babies.

Friday was a work day,  got a lot done while watching the snow pile up,  nice big flakes. About 6pm I booted up,  put on my big puffy coat and headed out,  I had a date…with me! Ha, fooled ya!

I took myself to see “Hail, Caesar!” Kids snack pack,  bottle of water and it was movie time,  I really enjoyed it.

Saturday, I slept in,  8am, oooh, apparently the kids thought I needed to be awake,  oh well.  A nice lazy morning,  then headed to The Muse Bar to have my paint night date with DTN and then dinner after.

This morning I went to meet CG, my trainer and her husband, BG. We had a great time, great breakfast at The Friendly Toast. We ate, laughed, swapped stories, talked about their strongman competitions coming up. I can’t wait to hear the stories and see the pics!  Three hours later we had plans to get together again,  can’t wait!

The rest of the day was spent relaxing with the kids,  I haven’t been her for a bit,  it was nice.

Now,  it’s time for updating you,  lights out and start the new week in a few hours.

{February 6, 2016}   Another great paint nite…

With someone new!

I talked to the girls I’ve become friends with in Boston and everyone was up for a paint nite, wahoo!

We found a Groupon and a night, we were set. Unfortunately,  before we could all make our reservations a few people had schedule conflicts, it happens and from the group, DTN was available! Awesome!

It was fabulous of her to come all the way to me, it was about an hour,  you know I’m heading her way next time.  Yes,  there will be a next time.

We met at The Muse Paintbar and settled in to paint, paint, laugh and paint some more! After painting we went to get some dinner at Tony G’s Sports Bar. It was so great to have one-on-one time,  we’re usually with other people in big social settings, this was fun and she’s one of PSM’s favorite people. I’m really glad we met and become friends.

Here’s the fruit of our labors. Remember, we start with a blank canvas and go from there. We painted are tree…”A happy tree”.

{February 5, 2016}   What’s wrong with this picture?

Am I dreaming?

It started snowing last night and didn’t stop. We got about 8 inches where I am in East Boston.

So,  I put on my warm fuzzy boots, long, white quilted coat and went outside. If my boots and jeans were white,  it would be a very different picture, I wouldn’t have had proof!

Now…last weekend I was in Hawaii…with my BARE feet in the SAND.

Now,  I ask you…what’s wrong with this picture?

Where would you rather be?

{February 4, 2016}   An apology

I must send to you,  my friends,  an apology.

Over the last few weeks,  several of my posts have been late,  some really late and that’s not fair to you.

There were days it got late or I got tired and my posts took a back seat.  I’m not going to say that it won’t happen again,  but I’ll do my best.

Forgive me.

{February 3, 2016}   Sinking…

Ahhh…these beds!

Not all hotels are created equal and definitely not the beds! I’ve stayed at all different levels of hotel and some are fine for sleeping,  it’s a place to rest your head and body.

And some…they don’t cam the Embassy Suites “heavenly beds” for nothin’! You know I love all things Hilton. And my other favorite is Hyatt.

This week,  I’m at a Hyatt and oh my! I sink into the bed, sigh.  And then when it’s time to get up,  snooze,  roll over and sink deeper into the bed and the pilows…

Shh…sinking…drifting…good ni….

{February 2, 2016}   Monogamy…myth or magnificent?

To start off, I want to say flat out, I believe in monogamy, a big believer in it.

Sometimes, it feels like I might be in the minority.

I’ve been in a few relationships in my time, some for a short time, several for quite a while. When I was going through my divorce, my therapist said there are serial monogamists, people who are in a relationship for a certain number of years and then move on to the next person for that many years. Apparently, I was married to one, that’s what she was thinking. And in terms of straight monogamy, I’m not sure he knew what the word truly meant.

Since my divorce, I’ve been in two long term relationships, one was for three years and now, I’ve been with PSM for a year, just, and it’s been wonderful so far, not sure if you could tell from my posts about the adventures we’ve had, just saying…and I know it will continue to be so, I have great feeling about it, a better feeling than I’ve had for a long time.

The reason I am thinking and talking about this is I am watching The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and there is a scene where a couple face each other and accuse each other of having an affair. She was having several, he wasn’t having any. [If you’ve never seen this movie, it’s about the older set]

She was carrying on with several men because she thought he was carrying on with other women. She said that when they met, they both said they were lonely, not celibate. The last things she says “if you’d like to try monogamy, which I think is for the young and very foolish, I’d like to give it a go”.

There are so many movies, songs, plays and books that make monogamy seem like a foreign concept, we laugh about it, make jokes, take bets, root for, really? There are also the same mediums that don’t poke fun, take it more seriously. Is there a right or wrong way to look at it?

“If you’d like to try monogamy, I’d like to give it a go”…is it really that simple or blase? I would said yes, simple. Simple to say yes, but it takes work, from both of you, you have to want to be there, be in it and be faithful, in every way. And if you’re in it and both want it, it can be incredibly rewarding.

Just random musings here, I could go on, but I’ll let you form your own opinions.

My travel day started at 10pm Sunday night.

That would be Hawaiian time, 3 am eastern, that’s early! I arrived in LA 5:15 am PST, leaving at 7am, arriving in Detroit at 2:30pm, Eastern, leave Detroit 3:15pm to arrive Buffalo at 4:29pm.

So…I traveled about 13 hours,  three time zones later, one hour sleep,  I’m kind of zombi-ish.

I think it’s impressive I made it to 8:30pm. And now…goodnight!
