{September 17, 2013}   Movie Count

I was watching Star Trek, the remake, no wait, the new…wait, no, the 2009 version with Chris Pine for what felt like the zillionth time (yes, I know that’s not a word, well, it is now, it’s in black and white and it’s on the Internet and you know what they say, everything you find on the Internet is true, so…)

As I’m watching it, I realized that there are so many movies that I have watched multiple times and I would love to know how many, so going forward I am going to keep track, how many times I see it in the theater, for example, I know I saw this Star Trek in the theater three times! Harry Potter:1, 2, 3, 4 I saw in the theater at least 2 times each, Stardust, at least twice in the theater and once on a flight to Paris, just to name a few examples. I couldn’t tell you how many times at home at this point!

So, my plan is to think about movies that I’ve seen and how many times in the theater and start to keep track of movies as I watch them on TV or my collection.

Be on the lookout!

So as to know, I participated in the Run For Your Lives 5k obstacle run yesterday. It’s funny, someone asked if I did the run yesterday because I didn’t post anything on Facebook or text.

Here’s why and then what the rest of my day and today was like because they were better.(and be prepared, this may take a while!)

I also realized that I didn’t get anyone to take my picture, so I won’t have any of me this time, oh well, maybe there will be one on the race page that I can tag and my friends can see it.

I flew in on Friday night as you know, drove 1.5 hours to Dalton, GA to spend the night, no way I was getting up before the sun to drive all the way down to run a race. I’ve started doing that, if the race is more than an hour, I will spend the night and sometimes, even if its an hour away, could be a fun night out.

I got up in the morning, got ready, requested a late checkout so I would have a place to shower, thank goodness! I had plans later and wasn’t going home first. I headed out, got cash for parking and was on my way. I got the with enough time to check in, check my bag in, get an Atlanta zombie shirt and line up for my heat.

Last year, I really enjoyed the run, it was at a dirt bike park track in the woods and it had been raining, so it was muddy, muddy, muddy. (Friends on Facebook, look for those photos from last year) we lined up in three corrals based on your pace (appetizer: 7-9 min mile, entree: 9-11 min mile and dessert, 12-14 min mile, guess where I was, yup, sweet sweet sweet).

It was so muddy that I lost the soles in both my shoes, almost lost a shoe at one of the obstacles. The obstacles yesterday weren’t in abundance or that spectacular, they seemed more like other obstacle races, last year there were hay bales, mud pits, mud bogs.

This year, except for the places they made muddy, it was DRY, DRY, DRY. Not that much fun running or walking on dry, huge rocks, so there were not many people running, partly because of the rocks, but it felt like the entire course was uphill and the downhills were straight down! People were complaining and getting hurt!

The zombies were in abundance, and they were great, the thing I liked better this year, the zombies weren’t as aggressive or body checking people, which they were rejected for last year. There is one zombie, KR, who I also met at the Vampire 5k earlier this year, he posted that it was great to see me, he’s great, he has two extra heads on his shoulders (ha ha) and squirts water at people.

There were doctor zombies, nurse zombies, (I told them I had lost all faith in the medical community that day!) mommies, kids, cheerleaders, brides, prom queens, you name it, it was probably there! The cool thing was that after you finished running, you could have volunteered to be a zombie, how fun would that be!

SAM_0889 SAM_0822 SAM_0831 SAM_0842 SAM_0843 SAM_0871 SAM_0887

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do most of the obstacles because…wait for it, as I was told by one zombie, I figured out how to avoid or survive the zombie apocalypse, I was injured! Just at the start, I stepped in one of the hundreds of holes, there was one zombie actually standing in one so people wouldn’t fall in, I wasn’t so lucky, stepped in one and turned my right ankle, I felt and heard “POP!” Ouch! I started limping and several people asked if I was alright, even the zombies asked if I wanted medical attention, no not from the zombie doctors! Everyone was very nice! I said no thanks, I’m going to try to walk it off and I am going to finish!

There were a bunch of people who got picked up and driven back on golf carts, it was bad. Eventually they were starting to put out flags to mark the holes…

So, as I’m walking it off and looking pathetic I did it again! Darn it! But I was going on! I kept limping and let me tell you, zombies are actually quite sympathetic when you look that pathetic! They even asked if I was injured! I told some of them they could go for my flags, I wasn’t moving any faster! Some even gave me flags back! (The flags were cool this year, had the logo on them!)

I don’t remember if you recall from yesterday’s post about how Yom Kippur crossed over into the zombie run…one of the zombie nuns was approaching and I said “So, sister, tell me all your bad habits!” I thought it was funny, so did she!(DCM is rolling his eyes right now) and she said, I’m Jewish! I asked if she was fasting! She was, said she had a talk with g-d and it was alright, she was drinking water. I wished her an easy fast and a good Yom Tov! The world is very small!

SAM_0885

So, I limped my way through the course and along the way met a lot of cool people, we all talked about different runs that we’ve done and liked. I met a really cool family, J and her husband, C, who lost his glasses, I really hope they got lucky and found them! They were with their daughter and one of her friends. This was their first, they were in from Charlotte, NC, so of course I had tell her about the run I did there and I would be back. We traded email addresses, I hope we’ll keep in touch! I’m hoping she comes to Atlanta for the Hot Chocolate in January!

(For anyone new to reading my blog, specifically J & C, they’re not all this long! Sometimes I just have a lot to say!)

After the run, I collected my gear and headed to the medical tent. There, the EMT looked at my ankle, I told him I did a number on it, he said, woah! And called another EMT over to look at what I done, see, told ya! I don’t do anything half way! He wrapped my ankle up, I found out I could get the wrap wet and it would harden, so far so good.

wpid-IMG_20130914_230827_295.jpg

So…here’s where it gets a little worse, as I’m limping and apparently looking pathetic, a nice guy offered to give me a ride back to my car, on his bike. I had seen him earlier talking to people who worked there, so I said thank you, if it wouldn’t be too much trouble. Well, I climb on to the TEENY TINY back seat, held on and away we went. Very nice bike, by the way orange and black soft tail, too loud for my tastes, but in great shape!

He told me it wouldn’t be smooth, due to all the rocks, no problem, we took the street for part of it. We are ow I the parking area and it’s straw and grass, about 1/4 mile from my car,we are taking a left turn and I’m not sure if it was too fast, all of a sudden, a serious flash, I am on my back with a motorcycle on top of me! In a flash, there were about six people surrounding us picking up the bike, which was good because the foot peg had dug into my LEFT ankle! When I stood up, everyone was checking that I was ok,the driver included, we checked each other out, we were fine, no worse for wear, but better than his bike, the shifter snapped off! He was not going to be able to ride that bike anywhere, luckily he had his truck.

When I was sure he was alright, other people were helping him, I hobbled to my car. It didn’t take very long for the golf ball sized lump to appear on my ankle, pretty solid thing! It’s going to turn very pretty colors! If you’re lucky, I’ll share pictures! Let’s just say this morning, it was tough to get out of bed! I can tell were the bruises are going to be on my left side and backside, but I am lucky, it’s no where near what I had when I crashed my bike a few years ago.

wpid-IMG_20130915_230656_055.jpg

Alright, you heard about my morning, lets move on to the good stuff! (By the way, this all happened before 12:30pm!)

I went back to the hotel for a hot shower, was not as muddy as I have been, thankfully for the hotel cleaning staff! I got in the car and headed downtown to meet some friends for dinner and to Break the Fast, perfect, with my friends. I stopped off at an outlet mall for some retail therapy, it helped my wardrobe for work, not my feet…

I was meeting some of the gang at Yeah Burger in VA Highland, I love it! CKM was there, of course, and first to arrive so we caught up a bit, but I didn’t want to give too many details for fear of repetition, shortly after, DL, my former co-worker and dear friend and her husband, ML, (and CKM and I finally got her to agree to do the Hot Chocolate 5k with us!) we caught up for a few minutes. It was ML’s birthday Friday, Happy Birthday M! Next was SDL and Miss A, you know I scooped that one up and barely let go! Next was TS, looking fabulous as always! I was so excited to hear what she has going on and coming up!

Rounding out the group was another couple who are former co-workers, JC and CC and their adorable son, M, he has gotten so big! I think CC is going to do the Hot Chocolate as well!

We had a great time, ate (I broke the fast with a delicious hand made veggie burger with goat cheese, yum!) caught up, laughed and had the best time! It’s never enough time, but it was great. I was so happy they were able to come out to dinner! I’ll be back, I can’t wait to see them again and if I missed you this time, hope you can join us next time!

After dinner, CKM, SDL and Miss A and I went for dessert around the corner, they had gelato and I had a crepe, yum! We talked a bit more, as we always do and as we are getting to SDL’s car, I walk off the curb and TURN MY FREAKING RIGHT ANKLE, what?!? OUCH! I yelled out quite a few expletives, apologizing the whole time, thank goodness Miss A isn’t repeating what we say! I felt sooo stupid!

SLD gave me a ice pack and after a while, drove me to CKM’s car, who drove me to mine. I felt so stupid! I did feel a little better when she gave me my birthday presents early! I got a stack of books, a patch for climbing Stone Mountain and what I asked for…”whirled peas”! When we were kids, my sister and I would ask my dad what he wanted for his birthday…his response was a digital watch and peace on earth or world peace! So what did I get? Whirled peas! Thank you!!!

I drove home, finished my post, elevated and iced my ankle, as instructed, and passed out!

Are you ok? Need a nap, get a glass of water? (you have to pack as much as possible when the time is short)

Today, I got up and went to meet LK and her three girls, K, J and K. The youngest, K had asked if I would come in for her birthday, it’s in two weeks, of course I wanted to and…it just worked out perfectly. We met at Mimi’s Cafe for a fantastic breakfast and fun. I think I’ve seen them more since if moved than in the last two years I was I Atlanta, I have a lot of time to make up for. When we got there, the youngest K, gave me a bracelet that she made for me, I love it! How did she know I love jewelry made by my nieces?

I told them I would see them when I am back in a we months, we took pictures, gave hugs and kisses, love and we were off!

It was so good to see them ad we would have spent more time together, but one had a softball game, one had a soccer game and I had playtime duties!

I headed to SDL’s house to play with Miss A while SDL mowed the lawn. We played, talked, giggled, ate caught up a little more since last night and a few hours later, it was time to head for the airport.

I dropped off the car, hobbled through security and off we went.

I hope you aren’t too wiped out from my adventure! I need for recoup! Thank goodness I don’t have to get up early tomorrow! I need a nap! Good night!

No matter how you say it, it just sounds wrong!

The reason I mention both in the title is that they both occurred today and one played in the other which I will explain.

Last week I told you about the start of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, the High Holy Days, culminating ten days later on the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur, known as the Day of Atonement. Yom Kippur is observed with a fast from sunset the day before, last night, to sunset touch. Traditionally it is observed in prayer and most often in synagogue, or temple. Fasting helps us focus on prayers and reflections of our lives.

As the day of atonement, it is a time for us to ask forgiveness from people we may have wronged and as we hope that our names were written in the book of life on Rosh Hashanah, on Yom Kippur, the book is sealed and our fate is sealed for the next year.

In greetings, as we talked about greetings during Rosh Hashanah, and during Yom Kippur, you would wish someone an easy fast and a good Yom Tov.

There are a LOT of rules associated with Yom Kippur, I’ve attached a link to give you more information and insight.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yom_Kippur

Everyone participates in their own way, I used to go to services more often, and…Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur have the highest attendance rates in synagogues, those who may not be very religious, tend to go for these two holidays as they are the most holy and on Yom Kippur, we observe a special service for those who are no longer with us. It is a somber time, but a joyous one that we are here to celebrate another year of life and be with those we are close to.

Traditionally you “break fast” with a piece of challah (a traditional Jewish braided bread) or maybe a piece of rugelach, a wonderful Jewish pastry. My sister used to keep a small ziplock full of rugelach, that our grandma M used to bring us from a great Jewish bakery in Brooklyn for the holiday, in the car and the second service were over, she’d be in the car eating a sweet while we drove home for a wonderful dinner of traditional foods that my mother and grandmother would cook.

(I’m smiling thinking about it…home made chicken soup, gefilte fish, kreplach, brisket and/or chicken and wonderful desserts: grandmas home made apple sauce and rugelach)

As I said, I do not go to synagogue like I used to, but I do observe the fast and I never work on Yom Kippur, I observe in my own way.

I liked the title of my post at first, but I realized now that I only want to devote this post to Yom Kippur and I will tell you about the run tomorrow. (Run for your Lives is a 5k obstacle course I ran today).

So, as I said in my post on Facebook, my wish to you…”Wishing all my friends and family an easy fast, may you find the answers you seek this day of atonement and may you be inscribed in the book of life for another year”

{September 13, 2013}   Today, I fulfilled a fantasy!

Why you cheeky monkeys! I told you, this is a family blog! My dad reads m blog, hi Daddy!

So, today, I fulfilled a fantasy…I’m a simple girl, this is a a simple fantasy…I got on a plane with nothing more than a purse, yes, I said a purse, that’s another story for another day.

Let me ‘splain, no there is too much, let me sum up. (I hope you got the reference, I know my movie buff friends did , but for those of you who didn’t get it, it’s from The Princess Bride, ahh…you know, “Hello, my name is Indigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die, I could go on!)

I travel a bit, not as much as some, more than others, well, that’s what i have been told anyway! A lot of times I am traveling for work and when I’m not, I’m usually working remotely, so, what do I take with me? My laptop…who in the world of computers, software, sales, etc. doesn’t take their laptop with them?

So, I normally have my laptop bag with me and it’s heavy. I also take what was original a canvas lunch bag and put a few things in it so I can put my knapsack in the overhead, and put the lunch bag under the seat in front of me. It usually has my iPad, book, phone, maybe a cross stitch I’m working on. Well, the idea of going through security with nothing more than maybe a little bag, even just a book and/or my iPad, not having to take everything out and put it on the conveyor and maybe getting through quickly and without sweating carrying the backpack to the gate has been something I have thought about for a long time, but not something I could ever do.

I am going to Atlanta for the weekend for a race, go figure, and best of all, to see my friends, I’m going to be there barely 48 hours, don’t need my laptop have my iPad! I need something to blog on! (Yes I could use my phone, but much easier on a big screen).

Don’t laugh, but I checked a bag, here’s the sad part, there is a duffle inside my huge duffle. There are about 5 items of clothes for the weekend in there and in the inner duffle…my mud run kit, extra clothes sneakers, towel, bags, crazy.

Bottom line is…my fine friends, today I did it! Yeah me! Fantasy fulfilled!

Wait, how sad is my existence when one of my fantasies is to take a flight with nothing more than just a bag/purse? Ah who cares? It’s my fantasy!

(I hope you’re totally laughing at the end of this, because I am and I know you can hear my voice in your heads! Muwahaha)

{September 12, 2013}   We’re ok!

We may be floating down the road soon, but we are ok!

Thank you to everyone for checking on us! The rain has been going on for almost a week and is not slated to stop for a few more days.

There were several areas that had 2-3 feet of water in a matter of 30 minutes today. I was listening to NPR on my way to work and they reported on the amount of rain as its coming down and coming down, slowing down and stopping traffic, that it’s really bad in Boulder, streets are flooded, lights are out, they evacuated the university!

I messaged DCM to check to see if the office was open, he decided to chance it and half way to work, he got an email that the office was closed, the electrical room, which is on the bottom level of the parking deck was under FIVE FEET of water! And that was at 7:45 am! The email also mentioned that Noah was at the office with transportation!

As of 3:00, the office would be closed until further notice, should be alright by next week, fingers crossed! The picture below shows you where the packing deck is, where DCM parks, well, normally where he parks!

It’s interesting how different areas are being affected so differently. I was in Denver today and it was raining, but not too heavily, traffic was better getting into Denver today than it was yesterday. Coming home, the road were fine heading out of Denver, didn’t run into any standing water like they were mentioning on the road signs and it didn’t rain much. It also held off for about an hour while we were ale to get to the grocery store and it’s been raining steadily ever since. Kind of weird to get rained on IN the parking deck!

There have been evacuations and people trying to get to higher ground and sadly, to date, there are two people who have lost their lives due to the floods and my heart and thoughts go out to their families. Thankfully, more people than not, are heading warnings and staying home.

Now, while I am thankful for the National Weather Service warnings, I’m not sure I need an update every ten minutes, even though it feels like every 30 seconds! We were watching a movie, it was continually interrupted and as JS said, it feels like our cell phones have been hijacked by The National Weather Service via Verizon, I have gotten multiple warnings every few minutes.

I just want to reassure everyone that we, personally, are fine, we are weathering the storm, as they say and we are doing our best to stay, literally high and dry.

Hopefully our flights will be able to take off tomorrow!

{September 11, 2013}   Blogging and total honesty

Yeah, about that…

I have to tell you, there are so many times I’ve thought about writing a post about something, maybe something that happened to me during the day that I want to tell you about, maybe to tell you or maybe to get something off my chest.

Unfortunately, even though I want to tell you, say it out loud so it’s out of my head and on paper, so to speak, I can’t say exactly what I’m feeling on some subjects because I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings and who wants to do that? Intentionally.

So here I sit with lots to say and no one to say them too, I know it seems a little weird to me, you may be comfortable and say what’s really on my mind. (Might shock you even!)

So then, all I’ll say at this time is goodnight and I meant to say it to everyone!

{September 10, 2013}   Paws are done!

It was a very long day that ended quite pleasantly.

It started off very early, out the door by 7, to ensure I got there by 8, which I did (I’ll tell you about where I am going in another post) and there was SNOW on the ground! What? Well, it turns out there was a monstrous hail storm yesterday, in some places dropping three feet of snow!

I practiced, did a teach back (explain later) and it went well. Then it was off to physical therapy, I gave myself almost 40 minutes to get there and I needed it! At PT, there was an intern, S, she is in high school and doing a rotation of internships to see if PT might be a direction she wants to go. She got to experience my issues and watch my fabulous therapist work stuff out, I feel so bad for her when I react so strongly, but it just means she’s doing a good job, right? S was looking up my symptoms on the Mayo Clinic website, ugh! At least we laugh a lot!

After PT, I had just enough time to get to Tuesday Morning, buy some pretty containers to take hummus and my home made baba ganoush with me to Girls Night Out! I ran home, well, drove, transferred the wonderful dips to the new containers, ran back out the door, jumped in the car and drove to Boulder to meet the girls for some papering!

I stopped at Sprouts to pick up pita chips and then my gps decided to take me on a tour of Boulder. I finally found the nail salon and went it, everyone had already started on the pampering and the food and drink, I had to catch up!

So, the title of my post, Paws are done, for those of you not in the know, guys, that refers to paws and claws, manicure and pedicure or mani/pedi for short. So, now you know, if someone says they got their paws and claws done, pampered and happy!

It felt so great to sit in the massage chairs, feet in the hot bath getting prepped, having some good food and drink, JS had gone on a girls weekend to Sonoma so she brought the wine, of course! And just relaxing and catching up. While we were sitting there, we started talking about next months GNO and the next month and the next month! We had multiple things for each month! I think. We’re planned out through March, or could be!

I suggested a 5k, either straight run or obstacle, I had to explain that I would never suggest one of the hard core ones, you know that involve electricity, ice baths, stuff like that! There are so many options, I do have a taker for a mud run in October, I’m going to see if I can get a few more of the girls interested, but…

It was decided for next month, we are doing the Hot Chocolate 5k! I know, I did this one in January with CKM, but everyone is so excited and who couldn’t use an extra sweatshirt! I think this is going to be so much fun!

So, it’s been a long day, but my toes look fabulous in deep purple, it felt great to get pampered and spend time with new friends, can’t wait to see some of my besties this weekend when I am in Atlanta.

I just hope this fabulous pedi will see me rough the zombie run on Saturday!

In a TV show, such as cop dramas! Made ya look though, didn’t I?

Here is the thing… Soap operas…drama and personal story lines, that’s all there is; comedies or sitcoms…most times a continuing story line of family or friends, with individual situations happening, you get involved with their lives, much like a soap opera, but funny. Hospital dramas…lets be honest, it’s a soap opera with doctors, a new case or medical mystery, but usually there’s interpersonal drama, we get sucked in. People like these, hey, I got hooked on ER for the first two seasons, I loved House for a while, how could you not.

What I don’t get is crime dramas, like Law & Order, why do those cops have to have huge story lines outside of the case of the week? Why can’t they just solve the crime that day, maybe it runs to the next week, and be done with it, how much back or outside story do we really need? And if you think about it, you only know the personal story of one or two of the main characters and then that’s it, you don’t know what anyone else does when they go home.

Sometimes, a persons personal life is important to the story line, but a lot of time it just gets in the way and drags things down and then when something happens to their family, you’re very upset because you’ve got a vested interest in these characters. Let them go about their day, do their jobs and that’s it, maybe they go out for a bite to eat or a drink after work, but they are back at it in the morning, catch the bad guy and do it all over again.

I know that seeing into their lives can give us insight to their personalities, what makes them tick, but you can also see it in the way they act in different situations. Does it really enhance the story line? And then…end of season, the cliffhanger and we have to wait ’til fall? Or if it’s a summer series, I have to wait until next summer? Pook!

This may be a pointless rant, but it’s something that I’ve though about before and complained about out loud, to no one in particular, not really expecting a response, but…just food for thought.

{September 7, 2013}   Pitch Black

Today, while I was I the phone with CKM talking about my review of Riddick and DCM was laughing listening to me go on my rant, carried on from last night, he made an executive decision, he found Pitch Black on On Demand.

(I have to tell you, when I started working for Descartes, they have a routing application called On Demand, I was very confused!)

So, DCM and I watched Pitch Black, the first in the Riddick series. I didn’t see it at the time (2000), wasn’t interested, in the movie or Vin Diesel and it may not have looked like my kind of movie at the time.

The story is “A prisoner transport ship and its crew are marooned on a planet full of bloodthirsty creatures that only come out to feast at night. But then, they learn that a month-long eclipse is about to occur.”

They start off with about 11 people, lets just say, not that many left the planet at the end MF the movie.

DCM said it was similar to Riddick and it was, one movie had creatures in the earth and this one had creatures that come out at night. I can tell you there is a consistency, there were 11 mercenaries and Riddick and the same number left that planet as in the one last might, is there a theme here?

In this movie we are introduced to Riddick for the first time. You find out he’s a convict, you don’t really know why he’s been in “the slam” so many times, you do find out that he’s killed, and is ok with it. One thing you notice about Riddick is that he doesn’t kill for no reason and he has a conscious, sometimes. A very interesting character, remember, we’re rooting for the bad guy!

I liked it, I think I liked last night’s better, only because the effects were better and lines were cleaner, but…this movie was made 13 years ago, so it makes sense. DCM said Pitch Black was better, agree to disagree.

{September 6, 2013}   Are you ready for some football?

Isn’t that the tag line?

So, apparently football season started tonight and guess where? My new hometown of Denver, Colorado! The Denver Broncos hosted the Baltimore Ravens at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, that’s a mouthful!

TOP 10 nhà cái bóng đá hợp pháp – có đa dạng kèo nhà cái

I “loin sometin” new every day…I did not know this, shocker, that the two teams who played in the Super Bowl will play the very first game of the new season and the losing team will host the champions, so tonight, the Ravens were in Denver and Denver was looking for some payback and I’d say they got it…the final score…49 to 27, ouch! I’d say the Broncos are off to a good start.

Although, there was a huge weather delay for the game, there was some rain threatening and lightening happening, the game started about 45 minutes late, that has to be so frustrating for everyone involved in the game, I don’t mean the fans, they’re just happy to be there, the players, anxious to warm up and get started, the coaches, their play books and strategies lined up, the referees ready to get on the field, the cheerleaders, ready to rile up the crowd, the color guard, waiting I the wings, the person waiting to sing the national anthem, vocal chords warmed up, maybe getting nervous.

For those of you that know me, you know I don’t know much about football and I won’t say I don’t like it, but it’s not something I care deeply about. Now, I know DCM has done a sharp intake of breath, as he always does when I say that because he is a HUGE, and I mean HUGE Atlanta Falcons fan. I’ve take him to two games, that was awesome, to watch him as he watched the game, I don’t know who was more excited! (Maybe me, but that was after he got me a Falcons jersey!) and if they are playing, I will sit with him while he watched,

My dad enjoys it and my sister remembers watching with him in Sundays, I don’t remember that, it may have happened, I just don’t remember, sorry daddy. This was carried into adulthood, my sister enjoys watching the Patriots play in her home state of Massachusetts and you should see the Pats jerseys I got for the girls! I know not to call their house during a game! And it was bad when the Giants were playing the Pats in the Superbowl..I may not be a huge fan of the game, but I know who I like! Go Giants!

I have been to a few professional games and I really enjoyed it, it’s more being there, the energy from the crowds, the sites, sounds, smells, food. I love going to the stadium, I get my guilty pleasure; pretzel and a coca cola, what could be better?

I am hoping to get the opportunity to go to a Broncos game! I will cheer with enthusiasm, with my pretzel and coca cola in hand! And maybe a Broncos jersey on my back!

My friend JT, takes me to a Falcons game every year, his seats are amazing, third row off the field, on the side where the Falcons come out of the tunnel and when they do, you can feel the flames when they shoot up! I may not always be able to follow the game, but I can tell when a player is running their heart out and about to make a touchdown and even if I didn’t know what was going on, I could follow the actions of the crowd. Even though I moved, hopefully there’s a game Thanksgiving weekend, maybe I’ll get to go…wink wink.

Even though I knew I wasn’t going to watch the entire game, I watched the opening and there were some very cool things that happened. To begin with, there was a sea of orange, it was incredible and those fans are diehard and were going to wait out the delays no matter what, there were clear ponchos and garbage bags and other makeshift ponchos, those people weren’t moving!

Keith Urban gave a pre-game concert, Ryan Seacrest got the fans ready, as the king of the countdowns would do! Danielle Bradbury, the winner of last seasons “The Voice” sang the national anthem, she was wonderful. I like that DCM stands when the national anthem is sung, doesn’t matter where.

Then there was the coolest countdown to the start of the season, it was 32 legends. They were shown with their number and counted the number off, I even knew a few! Phil Simms, Joe Namath, Dion Sanders, this really was way cool!

After the excitement and festivities, when they finally got started, I watched the coin toss, the kickoff and about three minutes of the game, I saw enough.

I hope you enjoy this years football season and your team is victorious!
