{January 10, 2017}   Does size matter?

When it comes to bed size, yes. And no. Ha!  You thought this was about something else!

Anyone that knows me has heard me go on about the fact that I prefer a king size bed. And they also know I’m a smaller stature woman, I’m 5′ 1.5″ tall.

Here’s the thing. I grew up sleeping on a twin size mattress, it was just fine, I really don’t need that much room. Now, I could have used more with the amount of stuffed animals I slept with, there really wasn’t much room left for me.

In college, I had a twin, until my roommate left and I put the beds together and made a full, ah… My first apartment, I got a full size futon, it was nice, I could spread out and still be comfortable. Put someone else in with me, gets smaller.

The wasband was 6’3″, he used to sleep on that full size futon on a diagonal! I used to pile blankets and pillows at the foot of the be so his feet wouldn’t dangle!

When we bought our first house, the first thing we bought was a king sized bed,  he continued to sleep on a diagonal, but he had the room to spread out. After we split, I didn’t downsize to a smaller bed, I like a king! Sometimes I even kept laundry on the other side of the bed for company!

When I travel,  I want the king, I can sleep in a double and a queen, and I have and…I sleep in one spot on the edge of the bed,  don’t care,  want the king.

At home, PSM and I have a queen, by myself or when he’s by himself, a queen is enough, add a second person and Mollie, the bed shrinks and starts to feel like a full or even a twin!

This weekend, at my dad’s, I was in my childhood bed, a twin, minus the stuffed animals. I was perfectly happy in that bed, I fit just fine.

But now, I’m back on the road, in a hotel and…ahhhh…king size!
