What makes us react certain ways to certain things?

We hear a song and it sets us off, sometimes in a good way, sometimes a bad way. Maybe you see a photo of someone from your past and it triggers a reaction. As most of us know, the holidays make us more emotional, especially if there has been a loss, but as we think on what we have lost, we should take a look around at all that we have, the loved ones who are with us, ready with a hug and a smile.
