{March 29, 2024}   Step two…get to the airport!

That’s what dad did!

Got up, got some work done, then went to breakfast with dad. It was a repeat of last night, eat, talk, laugh, repeat. Always a good time. We really seem to enjoy each other’s company!

Back to the house, get some more work done. Ran an errand with dad, back to the house, he got some rest and I helped a new co-worker get set up with the applications she’s going to be teaching. It also turns out…she grew up in Lebanon, PA and knows exactly where I live, what are the odds. It was fun getting to know her, I look forward to working with her!

When we were done, two hours later! dad came downstairs and we were both a little peckish, so we finished the leftover from last night! If there were more people with us at the restaurant, there probably wouldn’t have been any leftovers, but there weren’t, so…yeah for us!

After our snack, I had a few more things to do, and all of a sudden, it was 430p and time to head to the airport! I made sure I packed everything up, what I was leaving, what I was taking. I double-checked that his house key was in my bag and my car key was on the credenzia, and my passport is where it should be!

We loaded up the car and headed to Newark Airport. One pit stop for Mucinex DM, I’m still not 100%, boy do I love flying when I’m under the weather… We got to the airport, hugged our goodbyes and away I went.

Security was easy, I used my passport card for the first time. If you don’t know what a passport card is, it’s basically a card with your passport information, but you don’t have to have your full passport with you. I will say this, I would never travel without my passport, even if the card works, you never know. But…if you’re like me and couldn’t get the Real ID, I will be getting it, not to worry! the passport card can be used to fly with.

My first flight was uneventful, I was upgraded to first class earlier that day, it really was not a full flight, they brought another 4-5 people up to first class just before we took off! There goes that special feeling! ha ha

I got to Boston, had to leave Terminal A and walk to Terminal E, which is all international travel. Not a special terminal, they don’t even have good food options, I think there are more in Terminal A…

When I boarded the flight, I did need the full passport, I also needed it when I landed to go through Border Control, so as much as I like the passport card, won’t leave home with out the passport!

This leg of the trip I was flying with a Delta partner, Virgin Atlantic. Nice plane, blanket, pillow, and headphones, albeit 1980’s giant earpiece headphones. There was no onesitting with me, so I did try to sac out to sleep, not very successfully because I was scrunched up, but it was still nice, I had an extra tray, didn’t worry about going by someone to get to the restroom. I normally travel in an aisle set anyway, that’s something I’ve been doing for years. I used to be a window girl, but being on the aisle is so much easier, especially if you have to use the loo. I also used to forget how cold it is by the window, so asile for me!

My vegan meals were nothing to write home about, I didn’t even bother taking a picutre! I’m still unter the weather, so I felt everything here and there… I knew when the plane was banking…vertigo incoming… fun…But…I did manage to sleep, so that was good. Maybe 30 minutes here and there, there might even have been an hour block, and for me…even for an international/overnight flight, that’s pretty good!

I watched 2 movies, Back on the Strip with Wesley Snipes, Tiffany Haddish, J.B.Smoove, Chris Owen, Faizon Love, Bill Bellamy, and some other actors I really didn’t know, but realy liked. It’s about a guy who wants to be a magician, moves to Las Vegas, and ends up joining a stripper group, called the Chocoloate Chips. Isn’t that always the way it happens?

It was definitely not a kids movie, but I really enjoyed, I laughed a lot and maybe I’ll watch it on the flight back! I’m on three of them! Then, to fall asleep I watched the new Matilda, which I’ve seen a few times, based on the Broadway musical, a lot of fun to watch and sing along with.

And that’s where we sit, step two…got to the airport and now flying to London to meet SDL and Miss A. What could be better than that! Nothing at the moment!

I’m going to try to get some sleep, big day ahead tomorrow!
