Tonight DCM and I decided to go to see Kick-Ass 2.
If you’re not looking for an Oscar winning movie or Oscar worthy performances, then Kick-Ass 2 might just be for you.
I have to tell you, when I saw Kick-Ass, I had certain ideas of what it would be like, a fun, human/real people turned superhero, yes, but no. I was not quite prepared for the level of violence, mayhem, destruction, blood and gore that the first movie had to offer. I was incredibly upset after I watched it, glad it was a Red box pic.
Now, remember, I am all about gratuitous violence if it works for the movie, if you’ve ever heard me talk about Machete, I la-la-la loved it! And that movie had some awful, disgusting, grody and awesome slashing and hacking, but I knew what I was getting in to when I went to see it and I wasn’t disappointed! So much so that I sat through it twice! At least this time, I was prepared, I knew there would be a lot of slashing and hacking and blood, punching, kicking, pain. There were two serious gross out scenes, totally not necessary, I believe it was just put in for that purpose, to gross you out. I am afraid I’m going to have that scene going through my head more than once, maybe not, a girl can hope.
All in all, if you’re looking for a movie with a lot of arse-kicking, mean girls, regular people standing up for themselves with and without masks (that could be the message, you don’t have to wear a mask to be a hero, it’s inside each of us) and a good old fashioned melee, this movie is for you.
