One of my favorite sounds and sights in the world is to open the door and hear Auntie J! Auntie J! and see a six year old running up to you and jumping into your arms, twirl around with her and kiss her neck and cheek and hear “I missed you!” Sigh..
Then…the car door opens and her three year old sister screams Auntie J! Auntie J! runs towards me, jumps in my arms and giggles when you nuzzle her neck and of course, then zerbert the belly!
What a day! I got home from my amazing dinner about 11:00, started packing and had to decide, to sleep or not to sleep, my flight for Boston was leaving at 7:30am, yes, I hate myself, I booked a very early flight, saved me $100. So, I had to get up about 4:45, I laid down at 3:45, took a nap, and left the house at 5:30am. Fell asleep before takeoff, up when the drinks came, out just after and up for landing, perfect.
My sister GES met me at the train and I worked from her office, it was fun! We headed home about 4:00 to wait for my brother in law, AS and the girls. And here they come!
What a joy, what a treat, what a whirlwind! I don’t see them as often as I would like, every day would be awesome, but, I am a realist. I get to see them about 3-4 times a year in person, but, with modern technology, I get to see them a few times a month and I believe if it wasn’t for FaceTime, they wouldn’t know me or recognize as well as they do.
So, with the opportunities for FaceTime, we get to stay in touch, see each other virtually, and then when we see each other, the excitement is there tenfold, and trust me, not just for them!
MG turned three today and I got to be here for the celebration, where else would I be? Big party on Saturday and EJ’s dance recital in Sunday, I love being here for the big and little events, I am a very lucky girl! A little proud, maybe, just a little.
